Razer Go Wireless With Mamba Mouse

With the Mamba gaming mouse, Razer are venturing into the world of wireless gaming.

While the right-handed design bears a striking resemblance to the Deathadder, the specs of the new mouse show that this new mouse is considerably more advanced:

  • Gaming Grade Wireless Technology
  • Dual Mode Wired/Wireless Functionality
  • Razer Synapse™ On-board Memory
  • Seven independently programmable Hyperesponse™ buttons
  • 5600DPI Razer Precision™  3.5G Laser sensor
  • 1000Hz Ultrapolling™ / 1ms response rate
  • Up to 200 inches per second*/ 50g acceleration (depending on the surface used)
  • Approximate size:  128mm x 70mm x 42.5mm
  • Battery Life: 14hrs (continuous gaming); 72 hours (normal gaming usage)

The Razer Mamba uses 2.4GHz ‘gaming grade wireless technology’ to eliminate lag, the problem most commonly associated with wireless mice. This means that the Mamba boasts a 1ms response time, as opposed to a typical 8ms for other wireless mice. There’s a rechargeable cradle to keep the battery topped-up, although at a claimed 14 hours of continuous use battery life shouldn’t be an issue.

There’s a new laser sensor on the Mamba boasting 5,600dpi, which will make it the gaming mouse with the highest dpi on the market. Whether that’s a good thing or not will depend on your playing style, but 5,600dpi has surely got to be pushing the boundaries of sensitivity for the human hand. Looks like the Lachesis is no longer top of the dpi stakes.

If Razer can’t convince you that wireless is a good thing and you really want to get 5,600dpi you can take advantage of the dual mode that allows you to use the Mamba as a wireless or a wired gaming mouse. Simply plug in the detachable seven-foot, lightweight, braided cord and you’re back to using a good old fashioned wired mouse.

The retail price is a slightly staggering $129.99 direct from Razer but you can get a $10 discount if you buy from Amazon instead.
