Gaming mice have developed in leaps and bounds over the last couple of years, and nowadays their list of features can be quite long. However, gamers all have different needs and desires and some of those features will be considered useless fluff that’s not worth paying for.
Take LED lighting – it doesn’t add anything to your gaming abilities but some people will be buying mice just because they love the colour of the lighting. What about adjustable weights (think Logitech G9x or Roccat Kone)? Some players won’t notice the difference between each weight, others will claim it makes a huge difference to the feel of the mouse.
I”ll start things off with my preferred features:
- programmable buttons, so that important game functions can be just a finger stretch away
- ergonomic shape for comfort
- on-the-fly adjustable dpi for those varied gaming situations
So, when you’re choosing a gaming mouse what do you consider to be the most important features?
Pop over to the sidebar and choose your 3 preferred features and while you’re at it why not leave a comment explaining your choices?
Size. With Large hands, the bigger and higher the better.
Button location. Should be easy to reach.
Tracking friction. Should have smooth ride but enough friction to hold it’s position.
