If you like your gaming mice to look like a reject from the set of a bad sci-fi movie you should take a look at the new range of Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T.s.
There are no less than four new mice in the range, starting at just $49 for the basic Cyborg R.A.T. 3 and going up to $129 for the all-singing, all-dancing Cyborg R.A.T. 9. The range includes most of the features you’d expect to see on a decent gaming mouse, including a choice of high dpi sensors (3200dpi, 400dpi or 5600dpi), adjustable weights and a choice of wired or wireless, but there’s no LED lighting to tickle your fancy.
However, the weird looks aren’t just for show … the top three models allow you to adjust tthe shape of the mouse to match your grip. The length can be adjusted on the top three models, while the top two also allow the ‘pinkie grips’ and palm rest to be moved.
Having looked at the pictures I want to say that this is the most stupid design I’ve ever seen for a mouse … but I can’t, there’s something strangely badass about the design that really appeals to me! That doesn’t mean they’ll be comfortable though, with all of those bumps and gaps I doubt the R.A.T. range will as pleasing to hold as the my trusty old Deathadder.

Thanks to Nilithius for the link!
I found out about these when they were announced at CES 2010. They look awesome! Hopefully they perform well, because I’m getting one as soon as they are available. They certainly don’t look very ergonomic, but appearances may be decieving… Plus they badass design makes up for it. I hate ugly mice.
ya buddy !
it does look good i be on da list for this as well
i just got a email from them -release date is in april
I read somewhere that one of the thumb buttons on its side drops the tracking speed of the mouse when it’s depressed. That woul dbe a lot better than the usual SPI switching buttons cuase you could just hold down the button for a sec or two (or however long it takes you) to get off a far-away shot then instantly go back to your normal speed.
I read the same thing and it does sound like a good feature. I reckon we’ll be seeing it on more mice in the future.
i want one. this thing will dominate its sector. it is that much better, and the price is very reasonable.

If you go to the Mad Catz website, it says the RAT 7 is available now, and the RAT 9 will be out about a month after the end of August. So late September, early October time frame. Still not soon enough!
