Hardware manufacturer Cyberpower are boldly claiming that their new Xplorer X7-Xtreme S2 is the fastest laptop available … in the world!
Powered by Intel’s latest power-house Core i7-950 CPU and backed up by a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M graphics card and 6GB of DDR3 RAM the X7-Xtreme S2 will certainly be a powerful beast and should make easy work of Crysis. Hell, it’s so powerful that even Vista might run smoothly on it.
You’ll be able to watch all of the latest films in HD quality on the standard Blu-ray drive and you’re guaranteed gorgeous visuals thanks to a 17-inch 1920×1200 WUXGA TFT LCD display. There is also plenty of space to install your games as the X7-Xtreme S2 comes with a 320GB hard drive.
Specification:
- Intel Core i7-950 processor
- Intel X58 + ICH10R chipset

Cyperpower are certainly near the top of the ‘fastest laptop’ charts, but we’ll leave the benchmarking tests to decide if they actually are No.1.
If you find the $2859 asking price a bit steep you could downsize to the X7-Xtreme S1, which is identical except that it uses an i7-920 processor instead. You’ll be sacrificing a bit of performance, but you will be saving over $400.
I’d like to point out that you only posted it’s stock specs. The actual specs you can order it with are far more impressive.
For example, you can order it with an i7 980x Extreme Edition, TWO GTX 480Ms, 12GBs of 1333Mhz RAM, and THREE solid state drives in either raid 0 or raid 1. Which is significantly more impressive than the above specs.
