It might look remarkably like the Megasoma, but the new Razer Scarab mouse pad is quite different to that floppy, silicone-based mouse pad.

The Scarab is actually the replacement for the old Destructor and is a hard mousepad pitched at gamers who prefer using a high dpi setting on their mouse. Featuring the second version of Razer’s Fractal surface coating, the Scarab will apparently make you even more accurate with your mouse hand (provided you’re using a laser or optical mouse).

Measuring 350mm x 250mm x 3mm the Scarab should give you enough real estate to sweep your mouse all over the place. It also comes with a sturdy protective case to keep it clean when being transported to LAN parties.

The Razer Scarab will be on sale from January 1st at a price of $39.
