Alienware, the gaming hardware specialists at Dell, have decided to release a new gaming keyboard and mouse as part of their Tactx range of peripherals.
The Alienware Tactx keyboard is a USB keyboard that features 6 programmable macro keys and has the ability to store unlimited customisable user profiles. The WASD key cluster has anti-ghosting to cope with multiple key presses, and the Tactx also uses Alienware’s trick AlienFX backlighting that allows you to choose from 20 individual shades in two different zones.
The Tactx mouse uses a 5,000dpi laser engine and supports on-the-fly dpi switching. It has nine programmable buttons and up to five different profiles can be stored in the onboard memory. Like the keyboard, the mouse uses AlienFX lighting on the logo and dpi indicator.
Both keyboard and mouse are priced at $99 and should be available in stores now. No word on availability outside of the US though.
Looking at these two, is it me or is there a slight resemblance in shape and button layout to some other well-known gaming products – Logitech G15 and G9?
